Work

Work-

1. to exert oneself physically or mentally especially in sustained effort for a purpose or under compulsion or necessity.

2.to function or operate according to a plan or design.

I thoroughly enjoy both these definitions for work. I was taught at a very early age the value of work and money. The value of a good days work for a good days pay. Early in life while we develop we start to figure out where we’re gonna end up. What we will do and become. For some of us that decision is harder than for others. For me it was easy. When I was nearing the end of my high school career. I took a test that said I should work with my hands and I was like duh I know that. Now the test was probably bias because I already knew what I wanted to do. I knew I didn’t want to go to college. I knew I wanted to fix thing and build things. Funny thing is I picked a career where I never stopped going to school. Over these past 10 years I never stopped learning. Never stopped honing my craft. And as I neared the finish line. Learned what I could and basically maxed out on that. I said to myself what’s next. Granted my life changed drastically. Now I’m on a new path. It’s just the beginning of my new learning experience for my new job where I still get to work with my hands but I also get to help those in need. I know no brainer best of both worlds and with the skills that I’ve picked up I can also help my fellow firemen by doing things around the firehouse. The value of work is not the same as it was back in our parents day. Kids now a day are largely lazy and just want to text and eat tide. Now that’s not all but definitely more than enough. Also our government stopped working. Really I meant to say stopped working together for a common goal. Its almost as if we’d rather see the other side fail then everyone succeed together. The plan is life,liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Now although we don’t always agree with each other on how to achieve these goals. We cant forget that we all share them. We can work together and only together  will we achieve great things. If you look at history the Pyramids, Stonehenge,Colosseum just to name a few of mankinds great wonders. Were achaived by working together granted on the backs of many slaves at times. But just imagine what things we could build and do if we work together willingly. Manifest destiny. Work ethic. We cant all be bosses and engineers. Our trades need people. Every kid doesn’t to go to college. Theres a massive shortage of skilled labors right now and it’s only getting worse. One issue now is that some skills are all but lost some of the people that could train the next generation are already retired. To many shakers not enough movers and doers. I’m  a ok because I was brought up right. Hope I can do the same for my kids. You  only live once learn as much as you can in the time you have.
